Getting to Hollywood, Glendale or Pasadena from Oxy

This necessitates a little more walking to the lines that run on Colorado Boulevard and Yosemite Drive. The closest line to walk to is Metro Line 181

Metro Lines 180 and 181

Metro Line 181 runs from Hollywood to Pasadena via Hollywood Boulevard, Central Avenue, Yosemite Drive and Colorado Boulevard. The closest stops to Oxy are Yosemite and Eagle Rock, 2050, Maywood, Norwalk, and La Roda (aka cutting through the park over by ERHS). To go to Pasadena, board a bus for "Sierra Madre Villa" on the south side of Yosemite. To go to Glendale or Hollywood, board a bus for "Hollywood" on the north side of Yosemite. Though it is the closest walk, Line 181 does not run as frequently as lines 180 and 780.

Metro Lines 180 and 181

Metro Lines 780

Lines 180 and 780 both run along Colorado Boulevard between Hollywood, Glendale and Old Town Pasadena. Line 180 is a Local (orange bus), and Line 780 is a Rapid (red bus). The closest stop for them is at Eagle Rock and Colorado (by the Swork). To get to Glendale or Hollywood, board Line 180 for "Hollywood" or Line 780 for "Washington/Fairfax" on the north side of Colorado. To get to Pasadena, board Line 180 for "Altadena" or Line 780 for "Pasadena City College".

Getting to Downtown, Target or the Gold Line from Oxy

Your best option to get to City Hall (or to Target) is Metro Line 84

Metro Line 84

Metro Line 84 travels between Downtown and the Target via Eagle Rock Boulevard. Stops in the Occidental area are at Eagle Rock and York, Ave 45, Westdale, Norwalk, Yosemite, Chickasaw and Colorado. To go Downtown, board a bus for "Downtown LA" or "East Los Angeles College" on the west side of Eagle Rock Blvd. To go to Target, board a bus for "Eagle Rock Plaza" on the east (Oxy) side of Eagle Rock Blvd. Line 84 doesn't make any stops south of 1st or west of Broadway, because it veers east into Boyle Heights

Another option to go downtown; or to get to the Gold Line is Metro Line 83

Metro Line 83

Metro Line 83 travels between Downtown and York/Eagle Rock via York Boulevard and Marmion Way. Stops in the Occidental area are Eagle Rock and York; and York and Ave 45, Ave 46, Armadale, Ave 49 and Ave 50. To go Downtown or to the Gold Line, board a bus for "Downtown LA" or "Main and Venice" on the south side of York. Line 83 is slower than Line 84 to Downtown, but connects to the Gold Line and goes farther into Downtown (all the way to Venice Blvd).

If you live way north of campus, you might also look into Metro Line 81

Metro Line 81

Metro Line 81 runs on Colorado Boulevard and Figueroa Street

There is also a community shuttle called the LADOT DASH: Highland Park-Eagle Rock that runs between the Target, here and the Gold Line station

The closet DASH stop to Oxy is Ave 51 and Rangeview/Almaden. To go to Target, board for "Eagle Rock Plaza" or "Colorado and Eagledale" on the east side of Ave 51. To go to the Gold Line, board for "San Pascual Park" on the West side of Ave 51. Fare is 35c instead of the usual $1.50
